This hose is the source of a very common vacuum leak on the S38 and it needs to be at least partially removed every time the valve cover has to come off. Being that most of the hoses on these cars are now around 30 years old they are very hard and brittle and will usually crack when removed causing a vacuum leak for your engine. The new hose is a soft rubber like the original hose.

This hose has been remanufactured to replace the original BMW hose, part number 1151312861, which has been discontinued from BMW for a few years now and is no longer available anywhere.
